Late to wish you a happy birthday as I am late to everything else....but this. Not this concept of celebrating oneself! It was Mother's Day for me that did it- that final snap of nope, not any more, I'm not waiting for someone to get the hint. I will dictate to all what we do to celebrate me and it has spread from there to birthdays too. We matter. We deserve to be seen and celebrated and I'm sorry I wasn't here sooner because oh, how I've missed your writing!
